The invitation of DLD and Serpentine Galleries Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist to London, where the annual Serpentine Marathon – a veritable festival of brave ideas – commenced with a DLD breakfast, was followed by DLD friend, speaker and journalist at Süddeutsche newspaper Andrian Kreye. Science Impresario John Brockman, Nobel laureate for chemistry and President of the Royal Society, Venki Ramakrishnan, Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn and the director of the Alan Turing Institute, Andrew Blake, are only a few of the many extraordinary people that took part at the 12 hour discussion. Inspired by those Kreye wrote a wonderful sharp article with the thesis: "Artificial intelligence changes science and technology. But what does it do with society? Engineers, artists and scientists come to an inescapable realization." Unfortunately this is only enjoyable for our German speaking community – have fun reading.
