Stewart Butterfield is back at DLD. The serial entrepreneur and digital visionary made his début in 2005 at the very first DLD conference together with his then-wife, Caterina Fake, with whom he co-founded the photo portal Flickr, which they sold four weeks later to Yahoo. In 2015 he returned to introduce his new project Slack and dazzle us about the future of work. Therefore, we are especially excited to welcome Butterfield back onto the DLD stage at our first conference in Berlin. Now the Co-Founder and CEO of Slack, Butterfield, has again built a very successful and much talked about company. The platform for team communication is relied upon by hundreds of thousands of professionals every day. Its customer list ranges from well-known start-ups like Buzzfeed, Pandora, Stripe and Airbnb to established giants like Adobe, Walmart, Comcast and PayPal. Recently news broke that Slack raised $250 million in a new funding round and is now valued at $5.1 billion – just as the company expanded to the German market. Right now the business is run from Dublin, but the hunt for a German office is on. Where? Still pending. No wonder Butterfield’s talk with Stefan Winners, Member of the Executive Board of Hubert Burda, at DLD Berlin is highly anticipated! While you wait for the new DLD appearance of Butterfield, why not watch his previous innovative talks here?
